Notts: West Side Story set to thrill at the Theatre Royal
Originally directed and choreographed by Jerome Robbins, with music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, West side Story changed the course of musical theatre when it opened on Broadway in 1957.
Based on Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story explores the rivalry between two teenage gangs, the Jets and the Sharks.
