Majority get first choice of school for September
Offers of places for September were sent out by Lincolnshire County Council on Wednesday.
It showed that some 92 per cent of children (7,029) were offered a place at the school given as first preference for them. This is slightly down on last year’s rate of 93 per cent, but amounted to more children – up from 6,948.

The council notes the percentage of first preferences tends to increase by September due to appeals and movement on the reserve list.
Parents have until the end of March to lodge an appeal. If they return the appeal form late, it will still be heard but this may be in the last week of term or even in September.
