5. Alford
Alford Corn Exchange was back in the hands of the community after the district council agreed to sell the building freehold to a local community group. The district council had entered into a 40-year lease with the town council in 2009, but in 2013 the town council indicated that it intended to hand the building back to the district council at the earliest opportunity and, as an alternative, financially assisted the community group with the development of its business plan.
