Dig in as part of new Horncastle community allotment
Transition Town Horncastle has started a community allotment for anyone to get involved in.
It was one of the commitments by the builders of the new housing off Dymoke Drive to add more allotments to the one already down there and this is where the community allotment has been created.

Work has already started on preparing the allotment.
It has been dug over and the base has been laid for the shed to go up.
But it isn’t just about the physical work involved in caring for an allotment; the venture will offer much more to people taking part.
“They will pick up all sorts of gardening tips along the way as well as fresh air, exercise and making new friends,” added Alison.
