New cafe tops off Bridge Street nicely

WAFFLES, paninis, cakes and coffee are just a few of the tasty treats you’ll find in Worksop’s newest cafe.

Savannah Caffe at the top of Bridge Street has only been open a few days but it is already drawing in plenty of custom.

Here at the Guardian we were also eager to sample what the cafe had to offer. So I went with my colleague Chantal one lunchtime before Christmas.

Set in a prominent position between Worksop’s busy main shopping street and its new cinema, Savannah has an eye-catching shop front to entice passers-by.

It was warm and welcoming inside too, with bright decor featuring desert scenes and comfortable raffia furniture.

Chantal and I studied the choices on offer on the sandwich counter... and the tempting array of cakes and desserts.

Chantal went for a cheese panini (£2.50) and a bottle of water (£1.20). While I opted for a hot cheese, tomato and mushroom baguette (£2.50), a cafe latte (£2.49) and a slice of homemade apple pie (£2.50).

We hungrily tucked into our table full of food and were impressed from the first mouthful.
