Call to check out Human Library day in town
The Human Library is an international equalities movement challenging prejudice and discrimination through social contact.
Just like in a real library, a visitor to the Human Library can choose from a range of titles. The difference is that the books are people and reading is a conversation. The overall aim is to promote more understanding, breakdown barriers and enable people to get their views heard.

She said: “It is amazing to see the Human Library in action. People always report feeling inspired and uplifted by these brief conversations. We need the support and enthusiasm of people to come and join us and make it work.”
The event will take place at the New Life Conference Centre, in Mareham Lane, from 10am to 3.30pm (doors open at 9.30pm). It is free to attend and open to all.
As part of the day’s activities, there will be live music at 1pm.
