Council’s pledge to reduce smoking in East Lindsey
The Local Government Declaration on Tobacco Control urges local authorities to work with partners to develop plans to tackle the causes and impacts of tobacco use.
Councillor Stephenson said: “By signing this declaration the Council is clear that we will actively support our partner organisations to raise the profile of the harm caused by smoking and help to address the reasons why so many young people take up smoking.

The declaration has been endorsed by the Department for Health and Public Health England and signatories also include East Lindsey District Council’s Chief Executive, Stuart Davy, and the Director of Public Health in Lincolnshire, Tony Hill.
The Council is a member of the ‘Smokefree Action Coalition’, the alliance of organisations working to reduce the harm caused by tobacco.
