Hide AdHospice administrator, Bev Petchell, said: “If anyone spots the container, emptied and thrown in a bin or on a kerb side somewhere, please call 01507 354545.
“Needless to say, if anyone approaches you rattling this container, please do not drop any money in it.
“We do not have street collections often, but they are always licensed [by the local authority] and strictly controlled. All of our collectors carry valid ID too.
“Collecting boxes should also have a seal on the top, so anyone collecting with a box that has no seal would be suspicious to me.”

Hide AdBev added that the collection box may not necessarily contain much money, but that her concern is that someone could use one of the hospice’s collection boxes for illegal gain.
Reacting to the suspected theft on the Move Louth Forward Facebook page, Dawn White said she was “speechless”, while Claire Daniels added: “Absolutely disgusting - hope they find the scum bag”.
If you have any information about the theft, or if you find the discarded container, then contact Lincolnshire Police on 101, and contact Louth and District Hospice by calling 01507 354545.
