Marks & Spencer staff have a bug impact at Gainsborough Adventure Playground
Thousands of Marks & Spencer workers across the country have been taking part in a week-long volunteering drive.
Employees committed more than 40,000 hours to 685 local projects that make a difference to the communities they serve.

Hide AdIn Gainsborough, a team of eight helped create a new nature garden and bug hotel at Gainsborough Adventure Playground, the local store’s charity of the year.
The volunteers were Lissa Macfarlane, Amber Plumtree, Barbara McKnught, Lisa Bee, Luke Toyne, Charlie Hall, Robert Gardiner and Darcie Holiday.
Jonathan Springer, manager of the Marks & Spencer store at Gainsborough’s Marshall’s Yard shopping complex, said: “We’re really excited to be coming together as a team to support GAPA.
“Volunteering makes a profound difference to communities and we believe lots of small actions from lots of people creates a lasting impact to initiatives that do so much good in Gainsborough.”

Hide AdIn 2017, Marks & Spencer announced its new community commitments as part of PLAN A 2025, which includes supporting colleagues to deliver a million hours of volunteering time by 2025.
Since then, M&S has ramped up its support to the communities, aiming to bring people together to “create meaningful change where we live and work”.
