Colour back in Caistor to lift the spirits of everyone
Ever year the town is praised for its floral displays and the Caistor in Bloom group members were determined to make sure the town looked its best this summer despite the Covid-19 restrictions.
As always, leading the team of volunteers was Michael Galligan.

“When the word got out we would be planting up, we were overwhelmed with volunteers - in fact there were too many for us to accommodate.”
While all the volunteers were thanked, Michael gave an extra-special mention to one man - Cliff Rust.
Michael said: “Cliff has put in an almighty amount of work; he does the work of three men.

“There are new planters at Redhills Close too; Rustic Construction did a lovely job there.”
This year, Caistor in Bloom has concentrated efforts in the centre of the town, as when lockdown began it was unclear whether any planting would be possible.
Remedial work has been done on the traditional cart at Caistor Top and that will be planted up very soon.

He continued: “We have gone for about half of what we had planned.
“John at Carr Lane Nurseries helped us out big time. He has supplied us with some beautiful plants again.
“We are only about a week later than normal and it is amazing what has been done - and in a few weeks’ time it will all look really splendid.
“It will lift the spirits, and that is important.”
