‘Lovely Louth 2020’ winners are revealed!
The Mayor said: “It has been wonderful to see the enthusiasm and dedication of Louth’s gardeners once again this summer.
“The hard work involved in tending their gardens has produced fabulous results for the entrants to this year’s Lovely Louth competition.

Hide Ad“We thank them all for their wonderful displays that have helped to brighten the town up in recent months and congratulate all the winners.
“It will be great to see them, and hopefully even more participants, helping to enhance Louth’s beauty again next year.”
Unfortunately, several classes (e.g. licensed premises, shops and businesses, children’s groups, etc) were not able to go ahead, as Covid-19 lockdown restrictions were still in place at the time of the competition
For the classes that did go ahead, the winners and runners-up are as follows:

Hide Ad• Class 5: Open category - Gardens and planting viewable by the public.
First place - Harry Kerman, Beck Way (who was also awarded the ‘Best in Show’). Runner up - Barry Mountain, Hunter Place.
• Class 4: Private Houses - Gardens visible from road.
First place - Sue Wilkinson and Michael Hobdon, Kenwick Road. Runner Up - David Jennings, Meridian View.
• Class 3: Private Houses - Frontage display of tubs, hanging baskets, window boxes, etc.
First place - Maurice Foxon, Kenwick Pastures. Runner Up - Jan Radford, Edward Street.
