£100,000 play park to close for day for boulder removal
East Lindsey District Council has been publicising the closure of the Tower Gardens Play Park on Twitter today, saying the facility would be closed for the day for ‘minor adjustments to some play equipment’.
A spokesman for the council subsequently told The Standard this amounted to the removal of three freestanding boulders from the site.

Hide AdConcern was raised through the Standard last month that the trio presented a health and safety risk to children.
The play park opened in mid-February, ahead of schedule, after a month-long build.
Christine Yates, communications and campaigns officer for the council, said: “The play area currently meets all safety requirements however following concerns from a member of the public, we have decided to remove some of the boulders. This is a preventative measure to ensure that users of the play area feel safe when using the facility.”
