De Aston hosts magnificent sevens festival
Staff and pupils had their organisational skills put to the test at the county rugby sevens tournament which involved 30 schools with 51 under 13s and under 14s teams taking part.
The incredibly popular event was organised by Jon Miller, PE teacher and head of Year 10 at De Aston.

Hide AdSixth Formers and Duke of Edinburgh students also helped out and were able to put their skills to use as pitch managers, results co-ordinators and referees on the day.
Three competitions were staged in both age groups with Skegness Grammar winning the Under 13s Shield, King’s School, Grantham landing the U13s Cup and North Kesteven and Bourne Academy sharing the U13s Plate.
In the Under 14s category, Spalding Grammar lifted the Cup, Deepings School took home the Shield, and St George’s Academy, Sleaford, won the U14s Plate.
John Widdowson, from the Rugby Union Council, added his praise to the hosts.
