Swift talks National Road Race, training plans and local events
The 25-year-old entered the Harworth and District Cycling Club’s time trial on Tuesday, setting a new course record, just two days after racing for Team Sky in Glasgow.
The National Championships saw him in contention for the majority of Sunday’s road race, while he finished third in the time trial.

Hide AdSwift said: “The support and the atmosphere was really good, but you always get that with a city centre race.”
“It was a tough circuit and a tough race.”
With some time at home this week, the Anston man decided to put in an appearance at Harworth’s time trial.
“It’s rare I get the chance, so while I’ve been at home I’ve done a couple of local events.”
“It’s 10 years since I’ve done the Harworth time trial, and it’s nice to support local club events.”

Hide AdSwift is now bound for Nice, France, for a training period in which he plans to work on his finishing power.
“I’ve done a lot of climbing work lately so I’ll be mainly working on my sprint, I’ve got a good block of time to work on that and general fitness.”
“My fitness is in a pretty good place but I’ve got a three or four week block to get some specific work done.”
Swift’s next event is the Tour of Poland in July.
